Description and Objectives of the Program
The tourism sector, which holds a significant place within the service industry, is growing day by day in our country and its importance for our country's economy is steadily increasing. A continuous increase is observed in the number of individuals participating in tourism activities and the number of enterprises operating in the field of tourism in our country. Depending on this growth, the demand for qualified workforce in the tourism sector, which is already largely based on human labor, is increasing even more.
The objective of the Tourism and Hotel Management Program is to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills in service, housekeeping, kitchen, front office, and human relations to meet the demand for qualified personnel required in the tourism sector. Students graduating from the Tourism and Hotel Management Program can be employed in accommodation enterprises, travel agencies, food and beverage businesses, and public institutions and organizations providing hospitality services.
History and Current Status of the Program
The Tourism and Hotel Management Program started its education by accepting students in the 2005-2006 Academic Year. Our Tourism and Hotel Management Program offers both regular (daytime) and evening education options. In each period, 90 students are admitted to regular education, and 70 students are admitted to evening education.
Education Period and Diploma Type of the Program
The education period of the program is 2 years. Graduates are entitled to receive an Associate Degree.
Admission, Registration, and Graduation Requirements of the Program
Our program admits students based on the TYT score type obtained from the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) conducted by ÖSYM. Students holding a high school diploma or its equivalent who fulfill the provisions specified in the relevant legislation of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and the relevant regulations of Akdeniz University are admitted to our program. To graduate from the program, students must fulfill the success conditions specified in the Akdeniz University Education-Training and Examination Regulations.

Degree Awarded to Graduates
Students who successfully complete the Tourism and Hotel Management Associate Degree Program receive the title of "Professional Staff."

Students graduating from the Tourism and Hotel Management Program can be employed in accommodation enterprises, travel agencies, food and beverage businesses, and public institutions and organizations providing hospitality services.
Undergraduate Programs for Vertical Transfer (DGS)
Students who successfully complete and graduate from the Tourism and Hotel Management Program can continue their undergraduate education by vertically transferring to "Business Administration, Business Informatics, Business Management, Business - Economics, Accommodation Management, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Tourism Management, Tourism and Hotel Management, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Tourism and Hotel Operations" programs according to the OSYM DGS Guidelines.
